This policy explains how Synora collects, uses, holds, discloses and protects personal information. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to our website (synora.com.au) and the services we provide.
1. Who we are

Synora ("Synora", "we", "us", "our") is a Sydney-based studio that designs and builds websites and provides branding, SEO and content services for builders, trades and construction businesses. We are based in New South Wales, Australia.
2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the personal information we collect about website visitors, prospects and clients. When we build or manage a website for a client, we sometimes access the client's own accounts and systems on their instruction. How we handle that is covered in section 6.
3. The personal information we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

• Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and the business you represent.
• Business details: company name, services, the areas you work in, your goals and anything you share when you enquire or book a call.
• Billing details where you become a client. Payments are handled through our payment provider, and we do not store full card numbers ourselves.
• Website usage and device information: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies. See section 7.

Providing your information is voluntary, but if you choose not to, we may not be able to respond to you or provide a service.
4. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you wherever we can, for example when you fill in a form, book a call, email us, or sign up to hear from us. We also collect website usage data automatically through analytics tools when you visit the site.
5. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:
• respond to your enquiries and booked calls;
• provide, run and improve our services;
• manage your project, account and billing;
• s end you service messages and, where you have agreed, marketing you can opt out of at any time;
• understand how our website is used; and
• meet our legal and contractual obligations.
6. Client accounts and systems

When we build or manage a website for you, we may need access to accounts and systems you own, for example your Webflow, shopify, squarespace, framer, wordpress, domain registrar, hosting, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile. We access these only on your instruction and only to carry out the work you have engaged us for. We do not use that access for anything else, and we do not sell any information we see through it. Where access is no longer needed, we ask you to remove it or we remove ourselves.
7. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. This may include tools such as Google Analytics, and advertising tools such as the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel, which help us measure and run our ads.You can control cookies through your browser settings, and through the consent options on our site. Disabling some cookies may affect how the site works. Our site may link to or embed content from third parties who have their own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review.
8. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as set out below:with service providers who help us run the business, such as hosting, email, analytics, advertising and payment providers, who may only use it to provide services to us;where required or authorised by law;to protect our rights or someone's safety, or to investigate fraud; andwith your consent.
9. Overseas disclosure

Some of the tools and providers we use store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Before personal information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is treated in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
10. How we hold and protect information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including using reputable providers, limiting who can access information to those who need it, and using the security controls those providers offer such as encryption and access controls. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data breaches

If a data breach happens that is likely to cause serious harm, we will act in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. That means taking steps to contain it, assessing the risk, and notifying the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and affected individuals as required.
12. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as your account or project is active, and after that only as long as we need it to meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.
13. Automated decision-making

We do not use automated systems or algorithms to make decisions that significantly affect you. If this changes, we will update this policy to explain it.
14. Your choices and rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you may:
• ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and have it corrected if it is wrong or out of date;
• opt out of marketing at any time, using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us; and
• ask us to delete your information or close your account, subject to any records we are required to keep.

To make any of these requests, email us at todd@synora.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first.

16. Changes to this policy
