B-Built Projects

Seven of the first nine enquiries were for the work B-Built Projects wanted more of.

B-Built had built a name on outdoor living work. Ben wanted the business known for larger renovations and extensions instead. The site was built to make that shift, and the enquiries since launch show it landing.

The Problem

Being known for one thing is what stops you being asked about another.

B-Built Projects had strong experience across outdoor living and residential work in the Hawkesbury. The business was moving toward larger renovations, extensions and full home projects.

The trouble with a reputation is that it's specific. A builder known for decks gets asked about decks. Homeowners planning a second bedroom, a standalone cottage or a full internal renovation don't think to ask, because nothing they've seen suggests he does that work.

Word of mouth reinforces it. Every referral repeats the description the last client gave, so the description stays a step behind where the business is going.

The website was the only place that could say something different.

The Solution

A site built for the work he wanted, not the work he'd done.

We built the site around renovations, extensions and larger residential projects, with the outdoor living work in its place rather than at the front.

Ben was brought forward through photo and video content, because on a job that runs six months a homeowner is choosing a person as much as a business. Project sections were set up so completed work can be added as it finishes, and local search work put the site in front of people across the Hawkesbury who weren't already asking around.

The Results

The enquiries moved with the positioning.

Of the first nine through the site, seven were for extensions, renovations or new builds. Two were outdoor living.

Three arrived with plans already in progress. One had approved plans and a construction certificate in hand for a standalone cottage and breezeway, ready for a price. One had a DA approved on a property they'd just bought and a town planner already engaged. One had rough plans drawn and was looking for a builder to take it on.

The scope moved too. Two-bedroom extensions. A full external and internal renovation of a double brick house and granny flat, including a roof replacement. A kit home build from lock-up through fit-out.

One enquiry said it plainly. They were looking for a local builder, not a name they'd been given.

Enquiries came from Grose Vale, Windsor, Kurrajong, Freemans Reach, Glossodia, Grose Wold and Hobartville.
